DOVERIE AND SOPHARMA POST OUTSTANDING Q1 RESULTS

The main Bulgarian index SOFIX increased this week by 1.82% to 999.39 points. The broad index BGBX40 increased this week by 1.50% to 186.07 points. BGREIT decreased by 0.64% this trading week to 219.49 points.
Corporate News
Speedy AD (SPDY) announced 2025 Q1 consolidated results, where sales increased 6.1% to BGN 135mln. Domestic sales grew 6.9% to BGN 66.8mln and international deliveries grew just 0.5% to BGN 63.1mln as a result of the tightened competition. The total number of delivered parcels dropped 4.7% to 19.8mln, down from 20.8mln last year. EBITDA, however, increased 13.5% to BGN 28.6mln and EBIT increased 12.9% to BGN 17.6mln as a result of the marginal growth of 1.8% to external services, which form about 4/5 of OPEX. Net Profit grew 10.2% to BGN 14.8mln.

Chimimport AD (GR6) published their Q1 2025 consolidated results. Non-financial revenues increased marginally by 1.3% to BGN 98.7mln due to reevaluation of investment properties. Net insurance revenue increased 62% to BGN 12.5mln and net interest income from the banking operation marked a 1.2% increase to BGN 61.7mln. The Net result from financial operations, however, marked a 68.4% drop to BGN 7.1mln. Additionally, Income/(loss) to be allocated to insurance accounts moved from a loss of BGN 27mln last year to income of BGN 8mln now. As a result, Net Profit increased 4.6% to BGN 52.5mln.

Telematic Interactive (TIB) published Q1 2025 cons result, where revenues increased 5.8% to BGN 32.4mln. Active clients dropped 5.8% to 93.4mln, but average income per client increased from BGN 99 to BGN 110. EBT, however, dropped 10.6% to BGN 4.1mln and Net Profit decreased 12.2% to BGN 3.6mln.

Doverie Holding (DUH) published excellent Q1 consolidated results, where Net Profit increased 156% to BGN 53.9mln with. Their banking operations added BGN 11mln, the restructuring of the bank’s loan portfolio added another BGN 6.3mln and the dividends, which they received added another BGN 16.9mln.

Sopharma AD (SFA) published Q1 results with revenues increasing 25% to BGN 644mln. EBIT increased 27.4% to BGN 40.7mln and Net Profit jumped 40% to BGN 43.9mln.

 Economic News

ü  The business confidence indicator fell to 18.2 in May 2025. The uncertain economic environment (45.9 vs 51.6 in April) and persistent labour shortages (36.7 vs 29.4) continued to be the primary obstacles to business development. Moreover, industrial entrepreneurs expressed less optimism regarding the current business climate (17.8 vs 29.1).

ü  Producer prices advanced by 12.3% YoY in April 2025. This marked the sixth consecutive month of increase in producer prices albeit at softer pace, as costs moderated for all sub indices, namely; mining and quarrying (239% vs 32.7%), electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (39.4% vs 52.9%), and manufacturing (8.7% vs 11.3%).

ü  The number of tourist arrivals rose by 0.6% YoY to 797.8 th in April 2025. An increase was registered in trips with holiday and recreation purposes (7.1%) and professional purposes (0.9%), while those for other purposes (3.8%) declined. The EU constituted 53.8%, with Romania (41.5%) being the largest contributor, followed by Greece (30.6%). Meanwhile, arrivals from the other European countries accounted for 38.0%, mainly from Turkey (59.2%).
