The main Bulgarian index SOFIX decreased this week by 0.53% to 892.61 points. The broad index BGBX40 decreased this week by 0.29% to 171.40 points. BGREIT increased by 0.12% this trading week to 217.33 points.
Corporate News
Telematic Interactive (TIB) announced that they purchased 4 prime time commercial slots of 30 sec each during Bulgaria’s Efbet League for Season 2025-2026 until 31.05.2026 for BGN 360,000 inc. VAT.

Bee Smart Technologies AD (BEE) announced that they will be moving their Romanian business in Bulgaria. According to the company, the marketing agency they worked with there broke their relationship with one of their key clients, which lead to their B2C brand development significantly more expensive, and a major retail chain cancelled their relationship following a management shift. As a result of the relocation to Bulgaria, they expect to improve efficiency and improve profitability margins.

Mellifera (MELI) announced 2024 results where revenues jumped by 120% to BGN 394,000. Still, the OPEX growth of 25% to BGN 686,000 resulted in a net loss, albeit decreased from last year, of BGN 263,000. The largest contributors to the increase in OPEX were the growth in materials (BGN 95,000 added) and salaries (BGN 107,000 added).

Sopharma AD (SFA) announced that for January 2025 they have 7% growth in sales, which is derived from 6% growth on the domestic market and 8% growth in exports.

Dekotex (DEX) announced Q4 2024 consolidated results, where revenues increased 17% to BGN 5.2mln, which lead to Net Profit shooting by 57% to BGN 1.6mln.

Gradus AD (GR6) announced they had implemented a new chicken cutting assembly line, which is fully adjustable and cost BGN 10mln. The implementation took 9 calendar days to minimize production interruption. The new assembly line’s capacity is increased from 3,000 birds per hour to 7,000 birds per hour, but the greater automation and lower dependability on human labor increased productivity 3x. The production increase and the fact that clients can request various cuts will give the company a significant push to become a major chicken meat supplier.

 Economic News

ü  Bulgaria posted a current account deficit of €459.2 million in December 2024, shifting from a surplus of €345.4 million in the same month of the previous year. This reversal was largely driven by an expansion in the deficit for goods, which grew to €724 million from €554.7 million in December 2023. Additionally, the primary income deficit widened to €268.8 million, compared to €264.3 million in the previous year. On the other hand, the surpluses for both services and secondary income saw a decline, with the service surplus narrowing to €448.9 million from €597 million, and the secondary income surplus falling to €84.7 million from €567.4 million.
